AAALAC renewed QPS Austria’s Full Accreditation

The Association for Assessment and Accreditation of Laboratory Animal Care (AAALAC) International is a private, nonprofit organization that promotes the humane treatment of animals in science through voluntary accreditation and assessment programs. Today, more than 900 organizations (i.e. companies, universities, hospitals, government agencies and other research institutions) in 39 countries have earned AAALAC accreditation, demonstrating their commitment to responsible animal care and use.

The third institution in Austria to be approved, QPS Austria GmbH received full accreditation from the AAALAC International unconditionally, right off the bat. In its most recent investigation, the AAALAC Council on Accreditation found the institution’s strong commitment to a high quality program of laboratory animal care and use noteworthy. In particular, the council praised the enthusiasm, commitment and knowledge on the part of program personnel; investments in building and infrastructure; and the well-managed and clean facility. This recent re-accreditation and commendation underscore the ongoing commitment to high quality standards at the QPS Neuropharmacology facility in Grambach, Austria.
